I believe BMW also geared 4th, 5th, & 6th gear taller to improve several things. One being range. The buzz perhaps was made better, although my 2016 wasn't nearly as bad as some reported. I don't feel picked on at all with the range capability. My other bike is a 2020 GSA. It's mostly been a garage queen since the arrival of the XR.
