No, i think you have to press the clutch for every shift. In manual w/clutch mode if you attempt to shift without the clutch it will shift but it feels like they simulate a clutch press longer than you would normally do by pressing the bumper. I am unsure if this is remedied by upgrading to a racing transmission.
